- Occupational Workers Classification Bases:
- Occupational workers are classified into the following categories:
- Specialists
- Technicians
- Craftsmen
- Skilled
- Semi-Skilled
Specialists are vocational workers who at least obtained the Bachelor (B.A.) degree & who practice their vocations within their specializations.
Technicians are vocational workers who practice a vocation that requires a scientific degree & practical & supervisory skills, those should be holders of: 1. Intermediate community college degree or its equivalence. 2. A first degree vocational certificate & those who successfully passed the accredited training course in accordance with the legislations.
1. The craftsman category means the vocational worker who practices a vocation that requires a certain skill according to the following measures: A second class vocationalist is classified as follows: 1.1 The vocational worker who got the apprenticeship certificate in any vocational level. 1.2 The vocational worker who passed the VTC second degree vocational level standard test successfully, he should also have one of the following: 1.1.2. Skilled-level apprenticeship certificate with practical experience in the vocation they practice. The period of the experience in this level is determined by the board. 2.1.2 The Vocational Comprehensive Secondary Education Certificate with practical experience in the vocation they practice. The period of the experience in this case is determined by the board. 3.1.2 A practical experience certificate in the vocation they practice. The period is determined by the board. 2. A first degree vocationalist. The second degree vocationalist is classified in this degree after successfully completing the VTC training course. The skilled category contains the following: 2.1 The vocational worker who got the Vocational Comprehensive General Secondary Certificate & passed successfully the practical test of this category. 2.2 The vocational worker who has any skill for any vocation & passed successfully the theoretical & practical tests of this category & who has any of the following certificates: 2.2.4 Skilled Apprenticeship Certificate 2.2.5 Applied Secondary Education Certificate 2.2.6 The Vocational Comprehensive Secondary Certificate 2.2.7 Semi-Skilled Level Certificate
The vocational worker who successfully passed the VTC standard test of this category:
- Conditions:
1. Whoever applies for the vocational level of the skilled & the craftsman levels should be able to read & write. 2. The occupation practice certificate is issued for five years signed by the Director General of VTC or whoever he deputizes. It should include the category & the degree. The holder of the certificate should renew it within thirty days of its expiry date & in accordance with the VTC instructions. 3. The one who wishes to apply for the craftsman level but does not have either the skilled level or the semi-skilled level should get seven years vocation experience certified by the Ministry of Labor. 4. The one who wishes to apply for the craftsman level & got the skilled level should get three-year vocation experience certified by the Ministry of Labor.
